The background program that parses the files is written in python. If you prefer to run it locally from the command line or wish to make personal changes, you can find the script in my github repo HighlightParts

Running it locally allows you to set the output file name or batch process all files in a folder.

How to run locally:

• Follow an online guide for installing Python3 to your system (Linux, Windows, macOS)
• If you have any issues with the next step please visit python.org for guides and tutorials
• Run the following from the command line to install required packages

pip install pymupdf

• Go to the Github repo HighlightParts
• Click the download button to download highlight.py
• To run the python program you have to specify the directory of the pdf file or a folder containing multiple pdfs. The easiest way to do this is to place the highlight.py file in the same folder as your pdf file you wish to highlight
• For example on linux, if your pdf file and highlight.py are in your Downloads folder, move into your downloads folder using the cd command

cd Downloads/

• To process a single file and use the default ouput file name run the following (replace test.pdf with the name of your pdf, example: 06_10.pdf)

python3 highlight.py test.pdf

• To change the output file name use the -o option

python3 highlight.py test.pdf -o my_new_file.pdf

• To process a folder with multiple files, pass in the folder name

python3 highlight.py fuselage_folder/
